Janice DeGarmo brings an extensive record of transformational leadership to the Krach Institute for Tech Diplomacy at Purdue following 15 years of service in the United States Department of State (DOS). As Director of the Office of Management Strategy and Solutions, she delivered strategic insights and business transformation to improve the State Department’s management platform and advance foreign policy goals, with oversight of the department’s Center for Analytics, Policy and Global Presence, and Consulting and Advanced Projects directorates.
Previously, Janice was the Executive Director for the State Department’s Bureau of Information Resource Management and Bureau of Administration where she led management operations through budget formulation and execution, IT global application development, contract administration, and strategic planning and evaluation. Before starting her career in the State Department, she was a budget analyst and a senior advisor at the Department of Labor (DOL) with the Bureau of Labor Statistics.
Janice has dedicated her career to the mission of advancing U.S. foreign policy goals through an innovative, entrepreneurial mindset.
